Registered users: Name, email address, and hashed password. We also store PDF files you upload and their annotations.

Guest users: No personal information is collected. Files are temporarily held in your session and deleted when it expires.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To send email verification and password reset codes
• To store and serve your annotated PDF files

3. Data Storage & Security

All uploaded PDF files are encrypted at rest using AES-256-CBC encryption. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties except as required by law.

5. File Sharing

When you create a shareable link for a file, anyone with that link can view the PDF. You can revoke the link at any time from your dashboard.

6. Data Deletion

You may delete your account and all associated files at any time from your profile settings. Deletion is immediate and permanent.

7. Cookies

We use a single session cookie to maintain your login state. No tracking or advertising cookies are used.
